Introduction

This is the official web site for the Los Angeles based band, Waking Born®. Waking Born® was founded in 1995 by Mark Zullo, Seth and Mister Hepburn. Seth soon left to work on his own projects in a different genre (lo-fi electronica), and Mark and Mister developed the initial jam material (affectionately called "The Early Sessions") into the debut album, "Life Without Breath".

While the final album bears only a passing resemblance to the original jam sessions, the source material was the catalyst for developing Waking Born's signature style that is present today.

The band's first album, Life Without Breath is an auditory experience encompassing all kinds of sound and audio sources. Ambience, vocals and music are forged and tempered into an astonishing stereo audioscape of an imaginary yet very real universe; our universe. The world that we take for granted is ripped apart and exposed as the reality dream that it is for us, as the listener is taken on a deep, sometimes frightening and horrific, sometimes wonderful and inspiring, yet somehow enlightening journey through the depths of human depravity and ultimately to the heights of exaltation, if you dare allow it.
