Mickie Kice

Mickie performed several audio sequences for Waking Born's debut album, Life Without Breath. We were particularly pleased with Mickie's work on the track named "Goin' Down", where she performed what is now affectionately known as "The Slurp Track" - performed on a delicious popscile, of course.

That was the funniest day we ever had in the studio during this entire project! Mickie did such a great job that everyone in the control room were literally rolling on the floor biting our knuckles to try to stay quiet while Mickie studiously devoured a fast-melting coconut milk popsicle. Luckily, Mickie didn't know we were busting a gut in the control room, so she just kept working her craft until the popsicle was done. We got everything we needed in one take, which is not common in this line of work.

Mickie also provided supporting vocals for "Dust to Dust", which were quite outstanding but had to be dropped from the final cut to make room for the new choral work. Perhaps we'll get to use them in our next album.

Besides performing voice-over work, Mickie is an accomplished actor and has performed in several theatre productions and product commercials. In fact, we first became acquainted with Mickie when she performed in "A Midsummer Night's Dream" at a local theater here in Los Angeles.
