Waking Born

Randy Hurst is an experienced musician, producer, audio engineer and performer; founding the innovative band, ALIEN VINYL in 1996 and writing and producing their first demo CD. Randy is now in the process of working with a whole new line-up and creating a hard-core, take-no-prisoners musical onslaught for his next CD. Rumor has it that Randy has been working on new songs with "Anti", and has been collaborating with DOZI-ZOZU back in Alabama.

Randy works both sides of the booth, writing and performing his innovative material and engineering and producing it as well. Through the liberal use of heavy distortion, samples, "noise", acoustic and electric instruments, and hard-hitting lyrics, ALIEN VINYL creates a new kind of musical experience that's difficult to classify and amazingly fresh and inspiring.

Randy performed rhythm guitar for Waking Born on the track called "Wicked Clown" for Waking Born's new album, Life Without Breath, creating particularly interesting acoustic rhythm guitar tracks that work with the heavy rock lead and rhythm guitar laid down by Mike Zullo, along with Mark's flangeing vocals, to create a strikingly unusual and interesting soundscape. In addition, Randy came up with the awesome idea of writing and performing lyrics over one of the classical piano pieces in the album, creating the track we now call "Home".

Randy has also produced a new album, Bible (Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth), in the last few months and is in the process of working it up to the point where it can be purchased from BrainScream in a few months, along with some selected items from his extensive collection of earlier works.
